Every pool and spa needs to be registered through the Queensland Government Pool Register. The deadline has been extended by six months giving pool owners until 4 November 2011 to comply or face penalties of up to $2,000.

TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW!

• Pool owners have until 30 November 2015 to comply with the new legislation unless you sell or lease your home, then you will need a Compliant Pool Safety Certificate or face penalties of up to $16,500.
• Every pool and spa needs to be registered by 4 November 2011
• ALWAYS make sure the Pool Safety Inspector is licensed - ask them and you can also check online.
• If you are looking for a new pool builder, make sure they are licensed with the BSA & SPASA
